Hi, I'm Kate.

I'm a full-time property flipper and mum of two, and what started as renovating our own homes has grown into a business I genuinely love.

In 2025, I completed five flips along with a buy–renovate–hold project, and have an exciting portfolio of projects underway.

I work across the Sunshine Coast and Gladstone regions, and have recently expanded into Geelong, Ballarat and Launceston.

Every renovation is personally managed from start to finish — I care deeply about every detail, from layout through to the final finishes, to ensure each home is something I'm truly proud of.

A simple overview of how private money partnerships usually work with Katie Lane Properties. Every deal is discussed individually with clear terms before funds are committed.

How is my money protected?

Your capital is secured by a registered first or second mortgage over the property, together with a personal guarantee from Kate. As an additional layer of protection, properties are carefully sourced and purchased below comparable market value, creating equity from day one and helping to reduce investment risk.

What return can I expect?

Money partners typically earn 15% p.a., calculated daily on the drawn balance. Interest accrues only for the days your funds are actively deployed within a project, meaning you are not charged or credited for periods when your capital is not in use. Returns are agreed upon prior to each project, providing transparency and certainty from the outset.

When do I get my money back?

Your capital, together with any accrued interest, is repaid in full at settlement of the property. Most projects are completed within 6 months, and often sooner. The 6-month timeframe is considered a maximum term rather than a target, with every effort made to complete projects efficiently while maximising the outcome.

Do you invest your own money in each project?

Yes. I invest my own capital, time and resources into every project. My success is directly tied to the success of each renovation, which means my interests are aligned with yours from day one.

Can I see the property before committing?

Absolutely — and I encourage it. Transparency is a key part of how I work. Before committing, you’ll have the opportunity to review walkthrough videos, comparable sales data, the full renovation scope, detailed costings, and the project’s financials. I’ll also take the time to answer any questions you have so you can make an informed decision with confidence.

What if the property takes longer to sell?

If a project takes longer than expected to sell, your interest continues to accrue at the agreed rate until your capital is repaid. Your registered mortgage remains in place as security throughout the investment period, providing ongoing protection. Where appropriate, refinance options may also be explored to facilitate repayment and ensure a smooth outcome for all parties.

What happens if renovation costs exceed budget?

Renovation budgets include contingency allowances to account for unforeseen costs. Every project is carefully planned and actively managed throughout the renovation process, with regular oversight of costs, timelines and quality. My goal is to protect project performance while delivering the best possible outcome for investors.

Do I need to be an experienced investor?

Not at all. Many of my investment partners are investing passively for the first time. I personally walk every partner through each opportunity, explain the process in plain language, and make sure you have all the information you need to make an informed decision. I’m always available to answer questions and provide updates throughout the project, so you can invest with confidence regardless of your level of experience.

What's the minimum investment?

There is no set minimum investment, as each opportunity is structured differently depending on the project and funding requirements. The best way to find out more is to get in touch, and I can discuss the current opportunity with you and determine whether it’s the right fit for you.
